Why did I create Human Threads HR?
Most small business owners didn't start their business because they wanted to become HR managers.
Yet somewhere between taking on employee number one and building a team, managing people becomes part of the job. And sometimes it's the hardest part.
- Someone isn't performing.
- Two colleagues aren't getting on.
- An employee's absence is becoming difficult to manage.
A conversation needs to happen and you're not quite sure how to start it.
I've worked across HR, health & safety, workplace and employee wellbeing for more than 30 years, and one thing I've learned is that there isn't always a beautifully neat answer to a people problem. Legislation and process are always there underpining what we do, but fundamentally this is about the people you work with, every day.
That's why I created Human Threads HR.
I work with small businesses across York and North & East Yorkshire, helping owners navigate the people side of running their business with practical, straightforward and human support.
Not HR jargon, but honest conversations about what managing people is actually like.
