I’m Jo, the person behind Human Threads HR.
With over 30 years’ experience in HR and related areas, I work with small businesses across York and East Riding to provide practical, straightforward HR support without unnecessary complexity.
I'm a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development and a Chartered Member of the Institute of Workplace & Facilities Management.
If you need clear advice and someone to talk things through with, that’s exactly what I’m here for.
My background is primarily within human resources, but my experience also covers workplace experience, health & safety, wellbeing and facilities management.
Why Human Threads HR?
The name Human Threads HR reflects something I’ve always believed about businesses: people are the threads that hold everything together.
Every business is made up of individuals, teams, relationships, conversations and shared goals. When those threads are strong, businesses thrive. People feel supported, managers feel confident, and teams work together more effectively. When those threads become strained, whether through uncertainty, conflict, poor communication or lack of support, it can have a real impact on the whole organisation.
Human Threads represents my belief that HR is about much more than policies, procedures and compliance. Those things are important, but at its heart, HR is about people. It's about creating the right foundations, supporting positive working relationships, and helping businesses navigate the challenges that come with employing and managing people.
Every business is different, and every situation has multiple strands to consider. My role is to help bring those strands together, finding practical solutions that work for both the business and the people within it.
